  • Ukrainian delegation attends session of UN Commission on the Status of Women

    On 11 March, the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women started in New York, which will last until 22 March, with the priority theme “Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls by addressing poverty and strengthening institutions and financing with a gender perspective”.

    The session is attended by the delegation of Ukraine, the composition of which was approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 9 February 2024 No. 98-r.

    The head of the Ukrainian delegation is Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and the deputy heads are Iryna Borovets, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kateryna Levchenko, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, and Iryna Postolovska, Deputy Minister of Social Policy for European Integration.

    Participation of the Ukrainian delegation in the session is aimed at reaffirming Ukraine’s priority course towards European integration, strengthening social justice and gender equality in Ukrainian society, empowering women and girls in public life by overcoming poverty and strengthening institutions working to prevent gender-based violence.
