The Ministry of Energy presented the draft Hydrogen Strategy until 2050 during a working group meeting.
The document contains up-to-date data on the development of hydrogen energy in the world, hydrogen classification and analysis of international legislation. The draft Strategy also contains planned pilot ideas for the production of renewable hydrogen.
"Today, decarbonisation issues are coming to the fore in the EU. Ukraine's movement towards the European Green Deal strengthens the country's transition to sustainable development and transformation. The Hydrogen Strategy is one of the examples of the accuracy of such a move," said Deputy Minister of Energy Svitlana Hrynchuk.
The draft Strategy was developed taking into account the proposals of market participants and scientific institutions, and presents a roadmap for the achievement of strategic goals and an action plan. The draft was prepared by experts of the Reform Support Office under the Ministry of Energy with the assistance of the Ukraine Reforms Architecture Foundation (URA), funded by the EBRD. Work on the document is ongoing.
