    The Government has a clear priority as to the average salary in Ukraine that should amount $620 in the US dollar equivalent in 2021. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said during a ceremony of signing a new tripartite Framework agreement with trade unions and employers.

    "One of the most important missions of the Government is the growth of the national economy. The growth of the economy will allow the Gov’t to provide a new quality of life for the people through the increase in their incomes. Our Government has already created mechanisms that enabled the minimum wage threefold growth in the last 3 years, the average wage twofold.

    The Government has a clear objective regarding the improvement of the average salary in Ukraine in 2021. In the US dollar equivalent, it makes up $620 - an absolutely real number that will help increase the motivation of Ukrainians to work to improve the national economy", said the Head of Government.

    Separately, Volodymyr Groysman focused on the development of the middle class in Ukraine.

    "For me, it is a matter of principle to have in Ukraine a developed middle class, into which a Ukrainian teacher, doctor, worker should fall. In the next few years, we will exert every effort to accomplish this task", said the Prime Minister.

    It should be noted that in the new Agreement, the Government focuses on promoting the domestic producer in the domestic and foreign markets.

    In particular, the shared commitments have been determined regarding creation the following:

    - competitive jobs;

    - conditions for the legalization of employment and wages;

    - improvement of a system of vocational training, retraining and advanced training, professional training of employees.

    For the first time, the Agreement contains separate commissions of employers directly related to ensuring an adequate level of protection and working conditions, treatment and rehabilitation of employees.

    Background

    On August 23, 2016, the Government concluded a tripartite Framework agreement with trade unions and employers, which was intended to begin a new history of interaction on the socio-economic policy of the state, the development of the national economy and the creation of appropriate conditions for the work of citizens.

    The draft Framework Agreement consists of four main blocks:

    - development of economy and domestic production, growth of productive employment, preservation and creation of workplaces;

    - labor remuneration;

    - decent working conditions and social protection of employees;

    - social dialogue.

    In addition, the draft Agreement includes recommendations for parties at sectoral, territorial, local levels.
