On May 13, Director General of the Energy Market Directorate of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry Olha Buslavets chaired a regular meeting of the working group of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry on the preparation of a Concept for the introduction of smart energy networks in Ukraine until 2035 and the medium-term Action Plan for the introduction of smart energy networks in Ukraine.

The meeting’s participants considered the report of international and local consultants of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry on the development of smart networks in Ukraine on the topic "Shaping proposals for the development of smart networks" and defining a set of long-term and medium-term measures for the development of smart networks.

During the discussion, the members of the working group expressed conceptual remarks to the report and decided to return it to finalize to the international and local consultants within a month.

The introduction of smart networks technologies should create a technological basis for the efficient operation of operators of the transmission and distribution system as well as electricity providers in the new competitive energy market, taking into account the growing share of distributed renewable energy generation.
