The construction of the Kerch Strait Bridge in the annexed by Russia Crimean peninsula violates international law, adversely affects the economic interests of Ukraine and poses a threat to the environmental situation in the area. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said in a comment for Agence France-Presse (AFP).
«Russian occupation authorities continue to act not abiding by international law and any other norms. This construction runs counter the law, all existing conventions. Moreover, this construction restricts access to Ukrainian ports and poses a threat in the maritime waters», said Volodymyr Groysman. «We did not give our consent to this construction. It is being carried out on the territory of a sovereign state. I have no other answer than that Russia will be answerable for it.»
The Prime Minister stressed that the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other authorities were preparing responsive actions. The fight for the return of Crimea and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine will continue - no matter how long it would take, the Head of Government assured.
«Ukraine will spare no effort to defend its interests in international courts. Russia will pay a high price for it. And it is not the question of money, but justice that will be restored», said Volodymyr Groysman. «Russia finds itself in the situation of impunity and lawlessness. But it cannot last forever. When time comes, they will be held accountable for each such step."
