Stressing the importance of extension of economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres of cooperation between the GUAM Member States aimed at shaping the GUAM territory as a harmonious and cohesive cultural space, the Heads of Government of the member countries have agreed to make every effort to increase its attractiveness and competitiveness. This is stated in a joint statement signed at the GUAM Summit in Chisinau.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman participates in the meeting and also has inked the document.
"We will take measures aimed at promoting regional and interregional cooperation to accelerate the implementation of the main GUAM initiatives in the trade and transportation sectors. We will carry out coordinated efforts to implement projects within these initiatives and encourage all the parties concerned to participate in this proces", the statement reads.
Within the framework of the Summit, the Prime Ministers of the GUAM Member States also signed a Protocol between the customs administrations of GUAM Member States on cooperation in the field of combating customs offenses related to the movement of goods by air through the state borders of the GUAM Member States. The issue at stake is, first of all, mutual exchange of information on border crossings.
