A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Seoul between Ukraine’s State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development and the Republic of Korea’s Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association (KOCEMA). The document outlines the establishment of a specialised training centre in Ukraine for operators of excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy machinery.

The centre will be equipped with modern simulators and equipment from Korea, enabling Ukrainians to receive practical training to high standards and quickly develop skilled professionals for rebuilding cities and villages.

“We are creating a training centre for heavy machinery operators in Ukraine together with Korea. This will enable people to train on modern equipment and simulators to high standards, provide employment opportunities for veterans, women, and youth, and accelerate the restoration of infrastructure in communities,” said Oleksii Kuleba.

The programmes will include practical training for operators and technical personnel in line with international safety and operational standards. The centre will prepare workers for residential, road, and engineering projects.

The Memorandum also envisages the participation of Korean manufacturers in Ukraine’s restoration projects, including equipment supply, demonstration activities, and advisory support. Ukrainian and Korean specialists will collaborate on harmonising technical standards, preparing procurement and maintenance recommendations, and organising professional courses and internships.

Special emphasis is placed on the social aspect. Training programmes at the centre will be accessible to veterans, women, and youth, creating new opportunities for Ukrainians to contribute to the country’s reconstruction and secure jobs in the modern construction sector.
