The status of implementation of measures for the engineering and technical protection of critical infrastructure facilities in the fuel and energy sector and life support systems was discussed during a meeting of the Coordination Center for the Implementation of Comprehensive Resilience Plans for Regions and Individual Cities.

The Government has approved a list of facilities and disbursed UAH 22 billion from the State Budget’s reserve fund to implement the aforesaid measures. The funding is directed toward energy, transportation, and life support systems.

“Most regions have already begun work, and as of today, the completion rate for the first phase nationwide stands at 46%. This refers specifically to preparatory measures—geological and geodetic work, technical specifications, and site preparation. Furthermore, some regions have begun work on the deployment and expansion of equipment—namely Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Ternopil, Kharkiv, and Volyn regions, as well as the Recovery Agency. “Ukrzaliznytsia has even already completed this stage at all sites. At the same time, the Recovery Agency, the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, and Ukrzaliznytsia have already moved on to work on arranging foundation” said Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.

The aforementioned works on the engineering and technical protection of critical infrastructure facilities are being implemented as part of Comprehensive Resilience Plans for Regions and Individual Cities.
