Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov stressed that Ukraine will have the third largest helicopter fleet in Europe after Germany and France. He made this statement on Dec.10, during a working visit to Munich (Germany).
"We create a single aviation system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Within the contract signed with the Government of France, we will purchase 55 Airbus helicopters. The first two helicopters are expected to land in Ukraine on December 19, 2018, and the entire system will be fully staffed until 2021. All helicopters are manufactured in France and Germany, " Arsen Avakov stressed.
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the aviation system of the Ministry will encompass the best practices of French, German and American aircraft systems. "Helicopters will be transferred to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the Border Service, the National Police of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine. They will fulfill their core tasks - firefighting, border control, search for criminals and missing persons. But in case of an emergency, such as fires, they will work together, "Arsen Avakov said.
"The Mi-8 helicopters will be included in the system that is being created, and we will have the third largest helicopter park in Europe after the Germany and France. Thus, we will be in one row with our colleagues in terms of quality, " Arsen Avakov underscored.
