The Supreme Anticorruption Court, the work of which is regulated by the law approved by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, should start working at the earliest possible date, and the Government will do its utmost to kick off this process. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on air of the 112.UA TV channel.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the adoption of the law by the parliamentary majority is a major step towards restoring public trust in the government authorities.
"The abovesaid decision answers the key question - issue of trust and ability of the state authorities to adopt decisions that will allow to shape justice mechanisms in the country. This is a leap forward in terms of increasing trust from Western partners. I thank MPs for their stance. The Parliament has the potential to make crucial decisions for the country and society", the Head of Government claimed. He noted that it was impossible to predict such solidarity of lawmakers during voting. But the decision adopted is of utmost importance both for the Head of Government, and for ordinary citizen.
"The bill encapsulates all mechanisms (the work of the Court) and the process of selection of judges. Everything that depends on the Government in terms of financing, organizational issues will be done very shortly. I am interested that the work of the Court should be started as soon as possible", Volodymyr Groysman stressed.
The Head of Government emphasized that the adopted law brought the society closer to understanding that there can be no impunity for corruption schemes and violations of the law.
