UNICEF assistance to Ukrainian children during this difficult period is of utmost importance, claims Minister of Social Policy

August 20, 2018, Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Andrii Reva met with Giovanna Barberis, UNICEF Representative in Ukraine on the occasion of  the end of her term in Ukraine.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has been paying considerable attention to Ukraine in order to implement programs and projects in the priority areas of childhood protection. The Ministry of Social Policy which is responsible for shaping a child protection policy, works closely with UNICEF.

"Ukraine, of course, was not just an easy period  in your life, because you worked here in a difficult and  hard transformational period. And, believe me, our people will praise  what you have done for Ukraine and for children.Thank you for this", Andrii Reva stressed.

In turn, Giovanna Barberis  thanked the team of the Ministry for its leadership.

"It goes without saying that the tasks that we have to carry out are extremely complicated. But it is important that there is a political will that the government is truly concerned with the problems of children. For us, cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy was an excellent partnership. Ukrainian children forever will remain in my heart, and wherever I am, I will worry about their fate", Giovanna Barberis  stressed.

The Minister awarded Giovanna Barberis the honorary certificate  of the Ministry and a symbolic souvenir as a sign of a fruitful partnership.
