According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on May 8, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 14,195 COVID-19 cases, 361 patients died, 2,706 patients recovered. In total 977 cases in children and 2,758 in healthcare workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 504 new cases have been confirmed.

Vinnytsia region - 514 cases;
Volyn region - 424 cases;
Dnipropetrovsk region - 652 cases;
Donetsk region - 91 cases;
Zhytomyr region - 480 cases;
Zakarpattia region - 644 cases;
Zaporizhia region - 312 cases;
Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,078 cases;
Kirovograd region - 408 cases;
Kyiv – 1,721 cases;
Kyiv region - 935 cases;
Lviv region - 660 cases;
Luhansk region - 42 cases;
Mykolaiv region - 179 cases;
Odesa region - 583 cases;
Poltava region - 239 cases;
Rivne region - 855 cases;
Sumy region - 147 cases;
Ternopil region - 959 cases;
Kharkiv region - 478 cases;
Kherson region – 149 cases;
Khmelnytsky region - 148 cases;
Chernivtsi region – 2,097 cases;
Cherkasy region - 331 cases;
Chernihiv region - 69 cases.
Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
9,765 patients, out of this number 801 children and 2,271 medical workers have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 4,430 people were hospitalized, including 176 children and 487 healthcare workers. There are 185 people including 1 child and 16 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.
As a result of the complications caused by the disease, 361 people died with 19 healthcare workers out of this number. 86% of deaths occurs in the 50 and above age group.
The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of the morning of May 8, 2020, the Center received 1,148 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 37,052 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.
