Serhii Savchuk: share of clean energy in the final energy consumption of Ukraine by the end of 2017 makes up 6.7%
6.7% of green energy (including large hydroelectric power stations) was reached in the final energy consumption of Ukraine by the end of 2017 which is almost 1% higher than in the previous year.
The said figure was calculated by the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine by taking into account operational data of the State Statistics Service in accordance with the rules of the Energy Directive 2009/28/EC.
The dynamics towards the growth of the share of "clean" energy, which from 2014 to 2017 increased more than 1.5 times - from 3.9% to 6.7% (almost 1% annually) are incredibly important.
"2018 year should be even more productive because over 10 months there had been introduced more than 600 MW of new renewable power, which is twice as much as in 2017," the Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine Serhii Savchuk underscored. "By maintaining this pace of development of this sphere, there are all chances to achieve the goals of the National Renewable Energy Action Plan by 2020."
The main objective is to make projects for the use of renewable energy sources and alternative fuels: cheap energy for citizens; energy and economic independence of сonsolidated communities; increase of the investment climate; and improvements in the ecosystem.
