Government allocates a resource worth UAH 11 billion for development of regions, we demand efficient use of funds along clear priorities, says Head of Government
This year the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine
offered a number of tools to support and develop regions to the tune of about
UAH 11 billion, transfers the funds to the regions, but requires the funds be
utilized efficiently and along clearly determined priorities. Prime Minister of
Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman
stressed commenting on the Government's decision.
"Through the
mechanisms of regional development this year the Government allots about UAH 11
billion," the Prime Minister said. "We have drafted a Government
decision that would allow local authorities to focus on priority
projects."
He highlighted
that nobody is allowed to muddle at the expense of the state budget funds.
Instead, the main attention should be paid to high quality construction of
pre-schools and vocational institutions, modernization of emergency medicine
facilities, the development of physical education and sports facilities
infrastructure, critical infrastructure objects, etc.
The Head of
Government noted, if a concrete task is set at the State level, the Government
will invest money to achieve the goal. Meanwhile, local authorities should not just
to engage, but also to invest the available resource in specific areas - both
in terms of building social infrastructure and implementing investment
projects, creating new enterprises, new production facilities and new jobs.
"This is our
shared position," underscored Volodymyr Groysman.
