
Minister for Foreign Affairs of Finland to visit Ukraine in early March
March 5-6, 2018, Timo Soini, Minister for Foreign Affairs
of Finland is scheduled to
visit Ukraine. The Minister issued
this statement during a meeting with Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, Vice Prime Minister
for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine within
the framework of the World
Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland).
The sides discussed
burning issues of bilateral cooperation,
in particular, the more active
involvement of Ukrainian experts in the activities
of the European Centre of Excellence
for Countering Hybrid Threats.
Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze placed a special emphasis on Ukraine's interest
in deepening bilateral relations in the areas
of energy saving and energy
efficiency, in reforming school education, and intensifying business contacts. According to the Vice
Prime Minister, the intensification of trade and
economic relations between Ukraine and Finland would
facilitate the restoration of the work of
a joint intergovernmental commission.
The interlocutors highly
appreciated the dynamics of the
development of the political dialogue
and confirmed their willingness to advance it.
Background
Finland will become
the presiding country of the
Committee of Ministers of the
Council of Europe.
This year
Ukraine and Finland celebrate 100th Anniversary of the establishment of
diplomatic relations.
