Government triggers stricter legislation on the protection of intellectual property, claims Volodymyr Groysman
The Cabinet of
Ministers within the framework of
the policy aimed at strengthening
the economy and accelerating innovation development initiates amending the legislation on protection of
intellectual property and submits its
developments to the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine for further consideration.
This was stated by Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during the Government session.
The Head of
Government emphasized legislative initiatives in the sphere
of intellectual property, particularly in the field
of patenting inventions and copyright regulations, were drafted
as a result of numerous discussions
between government officials and business
persons, startups and inventors who
are currently forced to register
or sell their
products around the world. Hence,
this is a big loss, first
of all for
the country.
"The package
of incentives offered by the
Government creates normal conditions for conducting business," Volodymyr Groysman underscored.
Moreover, the Prime
Minister aired a proposal concerning the creation of
verification mechanisms and inventory of
existing patents in Ukraine in
order to study the range
of inventions as well as
compliance with fiscal discipline during the registration
of patents and their use.
