The Government of
Ukraine praises the financial support provided last year by the European
Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and its readiness to cooperate
in the next
two years. This was announced
the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr
Kistion in the course of
the meeting with Francis Malige,
Managing Director for Eastern Europe
and the Caucasus
for the EBRD.
"The Government
has unwavering commitment to implementing
reforms, and therefore appreciates the assistance of the EBRD in
the implementation of reforms both in energy
and in transport
infrastructure. The credit aid of
the EBRD in the next two
years will allow to upgrade
the fleet of Ukrzaliznytsya, upgrade Ukrenergo substations, improve the Dnipro River
infrastructure, attract investments in Ukrainian gas production,"
stressed the Vice Prime Minister.
He expressed once
again his gratitude to the
EBRD for the assistance in forming
a new Supervisory Board of NJSC Naftogaz
of Ukraine and in participating
in the competitive
selection of independent members of the Supervisory
Board for a new independent gas transportation operator - PJSC Trunk Gas Pipelines of
Ukraine.
In turn, Managing
Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus
for the EBRD, highly appreciated
the transparency of the first
stage of selection of the
Supervisory Board of PJSC Trunk Gas
Pipelines of Ukraine.
