Industrial production shows growth dynamics - State Statistics Service data
On the outcomes
of 2017 industrial production in Ukraine
restored positive dynamics of growth,
indicating the final overcoming of the decline
caused by the economic and
energy blockade in Donbas in
winter of 2017 and the loss
of some coal
and steel assets. According to data released
by the State
Statistics Service of Ukraine, the
adjusted growth rate as compared
to December 2017 and December
2016 was 0.4%. The upturn in December
compared to November made up
1.9%.
According to the types of activities,
the production of computers and
optical products is a leading one
(growth of December to December
- 44.6%), chemical industry
(41%), machine building
(14.6%), pharmaceutics (8.8%). The
processing industry and construction have demonstrated
a significant upturn. Adjusted indicator "December to December"
in processing industry was "plus" 6.7%, and in construction
- 9.7%. Moreover, the total amount of
construction works performed in 2017 amounted to UAH 101.1 billion, of which
73.2% are new construction,
reconstruction and technical re-equipment of buildings.
In the regional
context, the most positive dynamics
are demonstrated by western regions
and traditionally industrial regions such as Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Mykolaiv.
