January 18-20, within the
framework of the International Green Week the
10th Global Forum for Food and
Agriculture (GFFA) on the subject "Shaping the Future
of Livestock – sustainably, responsibly, efficiently” was held in Berlin.
The Ukrainian delegation,
which included Maksym Martynyuk , First Deputy Minister
of Agrarian Policy and Food
of Ukraine, Olga Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy
and Food of Ukraine on
European Integration, heads of departments
of the said
Ministry, the State Service of
Ukraine On Food Safety and
Consumer Protection, State Forest Resources
Agency of Ukraine and representatives
of the Embassy
of Ukraine in Germany.
The main events
were the Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference, and the International
Business Panel Discussion, expert panel discussions and a high-level podium discussion.
Apart from that,
the Ukrainian delegation had held a series of
bilateral meetings with the leadership
of the agrarian
agencies of Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia,
during which issues of deepening
bilateral cooperation were discussed.
On the outcomes
of the conference,
GFFA-Communiqué 2018, which is the final
document of the Global Forum
for Food and Agriculture that encapsulates the results of discussions
in various formats of podiums,
working groups, high-level discussions with the participation
of international organizations and institutions, in particular the Food and Agriculture
Organization of the United Nations
and the European
Commission, was adopted.
