Overcoming the consequences of the tough weather requires coordinated
efforts of local governments and rescue services,
hence the speed of all activities and solving difficulties directly depends on
the coordination of joint work of the said authorities. This was stated by
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during an emergency teleconference dedicated to
the situation on Ukrainian roads. The meeting was held in Vinnytsia, where the Head of Government is on a working visit.
"I understand that heavy snowfall caused huge traffic
jams. But people get stuck in traffic. How we overcome
consequences of the harsh weather will literally depend on the work on the
ground", stressed the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government emphasized that he keeps abreast of the situation
and called on local leaders to inform about what has been done to overcome the
effects of tough weather.
During the teleconference, the attendees noted that at present, heavy
precipitation has stopped, and road traffic has already been opened on
highways. 949 units of special equipment are involved in
overcoming consequences as well as dozens of heating points for drivers who got
stuck in snowstorms are deployed.
