Vice Prime Minister: EU and Government of Germany will provide a program of five-year support for Energy Efficiency Fund
The country in
synergy with international partners from the European
Union, the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) continues to cooperate in
energy efficiency reform. First of
all, it concerns issues pertaining to the
"warm loans" program, the launch
of the Energy
Efficiency Fund, and the support
for the IQ Energy
program. This was stated by
Vice Prime Minister/ Minister of Regional Development,
Construction, Housing and Utilities of
Ukraine Hennadii Zubko at the
Renewable Energy Forum '17.
"Together with
experts from the EBRD, we have
developed software for calculating the energy efficiency
certificate of buildings. This is a powerful instrument,
first and foremost, for energy
auditors who will be able
to certify the houses and
provide quality services to the
residents", the Vice Prime Minister
stressed.
According to him,
the software developed within two years will
be maintained with the support
of experts from the EBRD. This software will
have an open access under
the preliminary agreement with the EBRD.
The EU confirmed its readiness to provide the Energy Efficiency
Fund with EUR 100 million in order to start funding of specific energy efficiency projects.
"We expect
to sign a financial agreement on the implementation
of the Energy
Efficiency Fund that is worth
100 million euros with the European
Union. We also received assistance
to the tune
of 10 million euros from the
German Government. This is just
an initial step. The sustained
cooperation that envisages five-year program of support
for Energy Efficiency Fund is of utmost
importance for Ukraine," the Vice Prime Minister
underscored.
