"I am a supporter of the transparency of the gas market and the formation of a fair price (for fuel inside the country)," stressed the Prime Minister.

He reminded that such an objective – deregulation and shaping an efficient fuel market – was set for the members of the newly appointed Supervisory Board of the National Joint Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" being the major energy company of the state.

    Background

The formation of a transparent gas market and unbundling (separation of operations for transportation and storage (injection, withdrawal) of natural gas) of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine is part of a general list of measures determined among topmost priorities for the Government activities, as well as part of the agenda of reforms being pursued by Ukraine in the framework of cooperation with international partners.
