Ukrainian green tariff coefficient is one of the highest in Europe, says Vice Prime Minister
A Ukrainian
green tariff coefficient is one of the highest in Europe. No other country in
the EU has a tariff for solar energy production at EUR 14-18 cents/kWh, said Vice
Prime Minister/Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities
of Ukraine Hennadii Zubko during
the International Forum on Energy Efficiency.
"No other
country has such capacities as the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant project, which
is gradually turning into an investment attractive area. We can get more than 2
GW of solar energy and place a complex of networks there to generate this
energy. Another promising direction for investment is the market of wind
energy, which will enable the country to boost its energy independence", stressed
Hennadii Zubko.
According
to the Vice Prime Minister, it is important for industrial enterprises to utilize
the energy available in Ukraine. This applies to wind and solar energy, energy
from household waste and raw materials of the agro-industrial complex. "Among
the approved laws are acts on the gas and electricity market opening up such
opportunities. We must work on laws and include changes in taxation process,"
the top official emphasized.
