and staunchest support in pursuing
energy efficiency reform, and in
particular in establishing the Energy Efficiency Fund. Many of
our initiatives became a reality due to the
assistance and support of the
European Union", stated Vice Prime
Minister / Minister for Regional Development,
Construction, Housing and Utilities of
Ukraine Hennadii Zubko.
"At present,
the burning tasks are to shortly
approve the Statute of the
Energy Efficiency Fund, directions of its activities
and the funding
arrangement at the governmental level, emphasized the Deputy Director- General. This is
the reason for the signing
of a financial agreement with the EU, which will
allow to obtain financial resources to the
tune of 100 million euros for
the full launch of the
Energy Efficiency Fund by the
end of a year," underlined the Vice Prime
Minister.
According to him,
the state of implementation of the reform
and further directions of cooperation
were touched upon during the
meeting. After all, a lot
has already been done. Basic
laws have been adopted, and
work on its
implementation is underway. Moreover, strategic documents and decisions have
already been endorsed, inter alia Concept of
thermal power reform and debt
restructuring.
"The central
aspects for our further cooperation
with the EU: staff selection of CEOs and
members of the Supervisory Board of the
Energy Efficiency Fund, creation of necessary IT systems as well
as of a public
platform for providing energy audit services on the basis
of Prozzorro system that will
ensure transparency and openness of
all procedures. Moreover, we have
singled out a road map for
further joint cooperation", underlined the Vice Prime
Minister.
