Energy and Coal Industry of
Ukraine on European Integration Natalia Boyko met
with representatives of the energy
regulator of the province of
Alberta, Canada.
During the meeting
the sides touched upon burning
issues in the energy sector,
inter alia questions pertaining to ensuring transparency
and openness in the oil
and gas sector.
The Deputy Minister
of Energy and Coal Industry
stressed the interest in learning
the experience of transparency and risk prevention
in the energy
sector, which will facilitate investment attraction and efficient use
of deposits in Ukraine.
The Canadian side
shared experiences and presented a presentation on transparency and openness in the
energy sector in Alberta. In
particular, they briefed on the
Canadian experience of developing a database that is
updated promptly. Such awareness promotes risk-taking in the decision-making process and provides
the opportunity for consistent and coordinated regulation throughout the use of
resources cycle. An increased transparency,
according to the Canadian representatives,
allows to continuously focus on the process,
to improve regulation and to implement integrated
application of solutions.
