On November 8-10, during the visit
to India, delegation of the
Ministry of Education and Science
of Ukraine headed by Mr.
Roman Greba, Deputy Minister, held meetings with
Mr. K.K.Sharma, Secretary of the
Ministry of Human Resources Development of India, Dr. Jayshree
Mehta, President of the Medical
Council of India, and Mr.
S.K.Varshney, Head, International Bilateral Division of the
Ministry of Science and Technology
of India.
During the mentioned
talks, the sides discussed prospects of bilateral
cooperation in traditional and new directions taking into account
significant potential of education and
science dimensions of the Ukraine-India relations. Considerable attention was also
paid to expansion
of the bilateral
legal framework and necessity to
finalize the pending bilateral drafts. The parties
confirmed mutual interest in enhancing
ties at the
interministerial level as well as
between educational institutions of the two countries.
The Indian side
was also informed about the reforms in
the higher education sector in Ukraine and
its benefits for foreign students
in view of
the growing interest of the
Indian youth to study in
Ukraine.
