The biggest polluters of an atmosphere air are heavy industry enterprises. The situation can only be changed under conditions of cooperation between the state and business. This was stated by Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Ostap Semerak during the visit to Avdiivka Coke Plant, located near line of delimitation.

"Avdiivka Coke Plant is one of the largest industrial enterprises in Donetsk region. We held a meeting with the management of this company and discussed the implementation of planned maintenance in emergency situations and familiarized with the program of future environmental modernization of production. I understand that an implementation of the said program is complicated by military actions not far away", Ostap Semerak stressed.

Apart from that, he stressed that the state is interested in cooperation with large industrial enterprises in terms of reduction of emissions of harmful substances into the air and discharges into water, as well as on the storage and utilization of industrial waste.

The Minister emphasized that next week the Government is planning to consider the National Waste Management Strategy, in which one of the sections touches upon the creation of new approaches regarding industrial waste management.
