A ceremony of launching a stamp dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Canada took place at Cabinet of Ministers
On the eve of his
visit to Canada, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman took part in a
solemn ceremony of defacing a stamp dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Confederation
of Canada. The stamp sheet was made by a student of the Kharkiv State Academy
of Design and Arts Oleksandra Malyar,
who became the winner of the competition announced by the Ukrposhta
State Enterprise together with the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine.
"Ahead of the visit to friendly Canada, today we have an opportunity to launch the stamps marking the 150th anniversary of our friendly Canada and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic cooperation. This is a symbolic moment, and I will gladly launch these stamps," said Volodymyr Groysman.
Present at the ceremony, Karim Morcos, Director of the
Canadian Development Program in Ukraine stressed
that this year is a year of jubilee for Canada and in diplomatic relations with
Ukraine. "Recently, we also celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Ukrainian
Immigration to Canada, which is also a landmark event for us. We and the
Government of Canada are looking forward to your visit with the participation
of business, we will talk about reforms, and we expect that it will bring
fruitful results," the diplomat said.
