  • Ukrainian companies will supply equipment to Belarus

    October 11-13, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Yuriy Brovchenko paid an official visit to the Republic of Belarus, where he took part in the third meeting of the Belarusian-Ukrainian working group on industrial cooperation.

    In 2016 the trade turnover between Ukraine and Belarus showed positive dynamics as compared to last year’s figures and began to grow. For the first 5 months of 2017, the trading performance between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus amounted to USD 1.64 billion that makes up 25.4%, or USD 331.7 million more than trade volumes for the same period in 2016. The volume of export of Ukrainian goods to the Republic of Belarus amounted to USD 426.9 million that is an increase by 44.7% over the 5 months of 2016.

    In the course of the meeting Yuriy Brovchenko and Dmitry Korchik, Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus singled out promising areas of cooperation in the current year and discussed plans for 2018.

    «Ukraine cooperates actively with Belarus. During this visit, we have agreed on cooperation between the Ukrainian plant "Electrotyazhmash" and Belarusian OJSC "BELAZ" as well as between state enterprise Ukrainian Research Institute Special Steels, Alloys and Ferroalloys and OJSC "Borisov plant of automotive and tractor electrical equipment". I am deeply convinced that the arrangements made during this visit will bring tangible results», emphasized Yuriy Brovchenko.
