Ukraine resumes cooperation with world investors in the railway sector. Volodymyr Omelyan, the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine, stated the above during a meeting with Mrs. Jamie Miller, Senior Vice President of GE and President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Transportation, which took place on October 4, 2017 at the Ministry of Infrastructure. According to the Minister, previous management of "Ukrzaliznytsya" did not conduct a proactive policy on cooperation with world companies, initiated by the Ministry last year. “Now the negotiations are resumed. This is an extremely important step for Ukraine. Renewal of the rolling stock of Ukrzaliznytsia is a priority task for the management of Ukrzaliznytsia and the Government”, Volodymyr Omelyan said.
The Minister of Infrastructure also said that attracting of strategic investors to Ukraine is a chance to reform transport infrastructure, attract new technologies and establish high standards.
On October 3, Petro Poroshenko, the President of Ukraine, and Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, also met with the management of General Electric.
