Serhii Savchuk: Ukraine intensifies cooperation with Germany in energy efficiency and clean energy
The second day of
the International Conference in Berlin, Germany, which takes place within the
framework of the Week of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, was devoted to
the review of national energy efficiency and renewable energy strategies of the
participating countries.
Members of the delegations
had panel discussions this day. They discussed further steps taken by countries
towards energy decentralization, as well as the possibility of wide introduction
of a system of auctions when purchasing electricity from renewable sources.
Head of the State
Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhii Savchuk stressed that
Ukraine is making meaningdul strides towards energy
independence. The proof of that is the introduction of a number of important
legislative initiatives that facilitate the attraction of investments in the
abovementioned spheres. Besides, our country has considerable potential for the
production of energy from alternative fuels.
Basing on the
results of panel discussion in groups, the conference participants agreed to develop
synergy in taking action to enhance the role of energy efficiency and renewable
energy in each particular country.
