The adoption by
the Parliament of a pension reform developed by the Government of Ukraine is an
extremely important decision, which will trigger systemic changes aimed to
increase incomes of the citizens, stressed Volodymyr Groysman, Prime Minister
of Ukraine, in his video address.
“For me, this (the approval) was a matter of honor. I promised that we will do this - and we have succeeded. We have adopted a vital law. I want to thank the President, the Parliament, every MP who took this responsible decision. I want to thank the expert community that was supporting our initiative,” the Head of Government said, “It is of topmost importance now to raise pensions in October and it is therefore important for all services to embark on work immediately."
The Head of
Government emphasized that changes in the pension system together with changes
in the remuneration system, launched in the beginning of 2017, are systemic
transformations. "These are systematic steps that would lead to higher
incomes of citizens. We have reformed the remuneration system,
we have shaped a new pension system. And after that we will adopt economic
laws, thereby creating new jobs, improving incomes of citizens. We will exert
every effort for people to live better, to feel that life is changing right
now," said Volodymyr Groysman. “I thank everyone for the support, I wish all of us success and new victories."
