If the Verkhovna
Rada of Ukraine approves the relevant decision, the minimum pension may
increase up to UAH 1452 from October 1, instead of UAH 1373 as was planned
earlier. This was announced by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko on air of the EraFM radio.
"Today, at a
meeting with the MPs of Ukraine, with faction leaders, dedicated to considering
of the pension reform, another crucial decision was made - we ascertain readiness,
and we have the resource for that, starting October 1 to raise the minimum
pension not up to UAH 1373, as was announced before, but to make it grow up to
UAH 1452", he stressed.
"That is,
the minimum seniority benefit may improve by UAH 140 instead of by UAH 60. This
means that 8 million retirees, whose pension rate depends on the minimum rate,
will receive a more significant increase", said Pavlo Rosenko.
