On September 26, Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk met Goesta Ljungman, the IMF Resident Representative in Ukraine.

In the framework of the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the progress in the implementation of the comprehensive reform of the State Fiscal Service.

Among topical issues to tackle were further steps in upgrading the SFS aimed to facilitate a complete change in the structure and the principles of the Service’s work.

The parties agreed that the initiatives to transform the activities of the SFS are urgent for introduction. The preliminary results of operation of the automatic VAT refund register are considered positive development in the tax area, but without changing the structure of work of fiscal authorities further steps will be rather insufficient.

On the outcomes of the meeting, it was agreed to prolong work with the IMF and other international partners on the reform of the SFS.
