Prime Minister: Ukraine sustains a growing trend in the economy being an additional incentive for investment
Ukraine is
demonstrating a substantial rise in economic growth, and this should become
another incentive to invest in our state, said Prime Minister of Ukraine
Volodymyr Groysman during the Kyiv Investment Forum.
"Ukraine sustains a growing trend in the economy - thuswise, next year, the performance of works and services will exceed by hundreds of billions hryvnyas the showings of this year. And we should do all we can to enhance this positive trend previously forecast at 3%," the Head of Government urged.
He accentuated
that the top priority list of the Government’s activities comprises to create
rules and principles of investment process, to ease doing business, to
introduce reasonable regulations that promote development instead of erecting
barriers. “It is vital for us to ensure success of each investment. We are
committed to establishing clear and high-quality rules,” stressed Volodymyr
Groysman. He reminded that to achieve the set goals there are in effect several
tools – such as set up within the Cabinet of Ministers the Investment Promotion
Office, a Government Commissioner for Investment.
"Decentralization
is also among essential issues, as apart from finance we devolved to the
regions development tools. Workplaces and national product are created on the
ground. Herewith, decentralization tools should be used not as means for
pressure but means promoting development," said the Prime Minister. “And
today, here at the Kyiv Investment Forum, we can see that the capital has prepared
a number of effective projects to the tune of dozen of billions hryvnias. In this regard, the objective is to ensure
investment process be simple, doing business understandable. For our part, we
proposed a development budget (for 2018), planned growth for three years, and therefore we provided predictability for
businesses and included a series of development programs, inter alia in
agrarian sector, infrastructure, road construction. I wish to encourage
investing in Ukraine. We can hardly find another country with such a projected
growth that Ukraine will demonstrate."
