Minister of Defence of Ukraine General of the Army of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak held talks with the delegation of Canada’s Members of Parliament, members of the Standing Committee of the Canada’s Parliament on National Defence.
The parties discussed military political situation in Ukraine, especially in east of Ukraine and ongoing reforms within the Ukrainian army.
“I would like to thank the Canadians and the Government of Canada for consistent support and assistance since first days of the armed aggression against our country. Our relations have been improving every year. I am happy that tomorrow the Minister of National Defence of Canada will arrive to Ukraine to discuss prospects of further bilateral cooperation,” the Minister of Defence of Ukraine said.
The head of defence ministry also valued high professionalism of the Canadian instructors who train the Ukrainian soldiers at the International Peacekeeping and Security Centre in Yavoriv.
“We and our Canadian colleagues understand what to do in the future and we feel the comprehensive support,” General Poltorak remarked.
Mr Stephen Fuhr (Standing Committee of the Canada’s Parliament on National Defence) shared his impressions of positive achievements in the country and positive feedback about the exercise held in Ukraine.
