  • Odesa hosts international Navy seminar

    Odesa hosts Defence Planning and Command System Seminar ‘Navy strategy, structure, and development’ attended by representatives of Ukraine, the USA, Sweden, the UK, Norway, Germany, Canada, Northwood NATO Command, and EUCOM.

    Its participants focused on discussion of prospective development of the Ukrainian Navy under NATO standards and practice, transformation of the Navy Command System, infrastructure development, etc.

    Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko stressed that this event was held in the framework of the process of development of the Ukrainian Navy principles and ideas which were integrated into the Strategic Defence Bulletin in 2016.

    “We are implementing reforms within our Navy and NATO knowledge and experience are very important for us. We have to listen, analyze, and implement new approaches in command system,” the Commander said and thanked foreign colleagues for support.

    In the framework of the seminar, Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko also held talks with the US delegation led by Gary Espinas (U.S. Defense Institution Building (DIB) program).
