Stepan Kubiv: The launch of Lycamobile in Ukraine indicates growing confidence and a willingness to invest
July 5, 2017, First Vice Prime Minister of
Ukraine /Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv held a meeting with
the leadership of the new mobile operator of Ukraine Lycamobile.
In the course of the meeting the First Vice Prime
Minister stressed that the launch of Lycamobile’s
services in Ukraine demonstrates a growing confidence and a willingness to
invest in a promising mobile communications segment. Stepan Kubiv added that
the Government creates conditions for expanding the use of cell phones.
«The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine removed barriers for the
development of the mobile payment market. Now Ukrainians can use their mobile
phones as a virtual wallet. Now everything depends on mobile operators who have
to offer interesting and convenient services to customers», Stepan
Kubiv commented.
He emphasized that the digitization of the economy is a strategic
priority in the work of the Government, especially in light of visa-free travel
for Ukrainian citizens to the Europe.
«Ukrainians have been granted visa-free travel and comfortable trips
also depend on the convenience of using modern technology. We are working in
synergy with the EU institutions to reduce the cost of mobile services in
roaming, as well as other capabilities of digital products and services»,
emphasized the First Vice Prime Minister.
