On the 24 and 25th of July, Ukraine's Minister of Finance Oleksandr Danyliuk will have a working trip to the Republic of Italy. As a part of the visit, the Minister is to meet with Italian Minister of Finance and Economy Pier Carlo Padoan, Financial Guard Commander Giorgio Toschi, Director of Tax Agency Roselia Orlandi and Director of Customs Agency Giuseppe Peleggi.

During the visit, Oleksandr Danylyuk will learn about the aspects of the Guardia di Finanza, a law enforcement agency coordinated by the Italian Ministry of Finance and Economy, responsible for combating economic crime and smuggling. The issues of the Italian tax system and the customs functioning will also be discussed.

The visit was organized due to the launch in Ukraine of work towatds the establishment of a Financial Investigation Service (FIS), a similar body within the Ministry's system for investigating economic crimes against the state.

Establishment of the Service is supported by the President, Prime Minister of Ukraine and is a part of the Coalition Agreement and the Government Action Plan. The initiative is also a commitment under the Memorandum of Cooperation with the IMF and is supported by foreign partners, experts and business associations.
