The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, at its
evening session, commenced consideration of the draft law elaborated by the
Government on amendments to the state budget in the second reading and a
package of bills on the pension reform. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman attended the
sitting. Commenting on the need for adoption of the said decisions, the Head of
Government stressed that elaborated bills are of critical importance for
Ukraine.
«We begin
to consider the landmark decisions for our country. On the one hand, these
amendments to the state budget for 2017 submitted to the Verkhovna
Rada of Ukraine, are stipulating for funding for the
most burning social programs, ranging from benefits and subsidies and up to the
enlargement of the nomenclature of the Available Medicine state program as well
as program for medical rehabilitation of Ukrainians abroad and many other
various social programs, including support for our security and defense
sectors. The second issue is the consideration of the draft pension reform. It
is crucial for us to approve these initiatives that are awaited by millions of
citizens in the last day of the plenary session. We will count on your

The Head of
Government recalled that the adoption of the abovementioned decisions will
allow to allocate funds for vital social sectors as well as in the next two
months to prepare in synergy with the Parliament draft legislation on pension
reform for the second reading.
