Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman urged local authorities to devote careful attention to the implementation of energy efficiency programs as well as to strengthen payment discipline, especially as local budgets possess sufficient resources due to the decentralization process. This was stated by the Head of Government during the special conference call with heads of regional state administrations.

«The separate issue is the energy efficiency. We had an extremely complicated but effective way to reduce consumption of resources and to diversify supply resources. The modernization of industry and housing is of utmost importance for us now. The local budgets possess necessary resources for energy efficiency measures», stressed the Prime Minister while appealing to mayors with a request to bear more responsibilities with regard to energy efficiency measures.

According to the Head of Government, another equally pertinent issue is the formation of calculations for the energy resources and utility services.

«The calculation is a perennial problem. We understand that there are benefits and subsidies, hence we take responsibility in this direction. Apart from that, there is also your responsibility at the local level. I urge you to pay particular attention to that issue», underlined Volodymyr Groysman while appealing to heads of regional state administrations.
