Ukraine is grateful to the European Union for the political and as well
as for the substantial macro-financial assistance and is committed to further
demonstrate remarkable progress in the process of implementation of reforms in
the country. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman issued such a
statement in the course of the meeting with EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes
Hahn.
«I would like to express gratefulness for a number of crucial decisions,
in particular the liberalization of the visa regime and I want to assure you
that we have a serious reform agenda. Tomorrow we will present a medical draft
reform at the meeting of the National Reform Council (under the chairmanship of
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko) and next week
we will introduce a draft law on the pension reform. Thereafter - presentation
of the education and land reform», said the Head of Ukrainian Government
putting a special emphasis on the introduction of the European Anti-Corruption
Initiative for Ukraine.
In turn, Johannes Hahn praised the progress which had been already
achieved by Ukraine and singled out a series of important issues to be tackled
in the context of preparation for the EU-Ukraine summit in the mid-July. ”We need
to focus on further reform measures as well as on all initiatives related to
the economic and social development of Ukraine”, stressed the EU Commissioner.
According to him, the point at issue is about the further development of
electronic declaration process, achievement of tangible results in pursuing of
anti-corruption policy, implementation of provisions of the Association
Agreement between Ukraine and the EU as well as carrying out of energy
efficiency measures.
