Volodymyr Groysman handed over 600 new green vehicles to law enforcement authorities in the framework of the retrofitting program
Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman took part in the ceremony
of transferring of 635 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV cars with ecological engines
to the units of the National police of Ukraine. The event was held within the
program of retrofitting law enforcement authorities and was conducted with the
assistance of the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine as agreed with governmental and
commercial entities of Japan which is enshrined in the special decree of the
Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Japanese private companies allocated funds for
purchasing of cars under the Kyoto Protocol.
While commenting on the event, the Prime Minister stressed: "Today
we are participating in a good event – it is another step aimed to support the technical
equipment and to strengthen security of a new Ukrainian police. Our goal is to
ensure that we protect the law as well as to guarantee safety to our citizens.
It requires your endurance, exceptional service and quality maintaining of law
enforcement system. "
He noted that the Government is gradually implementing tools which will
enable the law enforcement system to have all needed for a decent performance
of duties. "We want you to possess
necessary equipment and instruments allowing you to effectively perform
tasks as well as service-related liabilities“, underlined the Prime Minister,
adding words of gratitude to Japanese partners for their support in the
implementation of important tasks.
"I would like people to respect you and to feel that you will
provide help to those who suffer. I really want our country to be in peace. We
will make every effort to secure peace and order on the streets of villages,
small towns and cities”, assured the Prime Minister.
