During an official visit to Israel Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman had a meeting with His Beatitude Theophilos III, Patriarch of Jerusalem and All Palestine, Syria, Arabia, and beyond the Jordan River, Kana of Galilee and Holy Sion.

The Head of Ukrainian Government has highlighted the personal role of the Patriarch in the revival of interdenominational dialogue and thanked His Beatitude for the support of Ukraine and Ukrainians.

"We are doing everything to ensure the road to the temple in Ukraine be free. Not interfering with religious matters, we believe that everything should be done to engage in efficient interdenominational dialogue aimed at establishing a united Orthodox local church. For Ukrainian citizens this is a rather important and very much expected issue", said the Head of Government.

In turn, the Patriarch of Jerusalem stressed the importance of interfaith dialogue and expressed confidence that the issue of the split of churches in Ukraine can be solved "avoiding political or military tools, but using spiritual means."

Volodymyr Groysman told about the situation in Ukraine, as well as the course of his official visit to Israel and a number of meetings with leaders of the State in its framework, during which the two parties agreed to prolong cooperation.
