PM congratulated veterans of WWII - former officials of the CMU on the upcoming Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and Victory Day

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on the eve of the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation and Victory Day over Nazism in World War II- 8 and 9 May – congratulated veterans of World War II– former employees of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as well as of the Council of Ministers of the USSR.

"I would like to heartily congratulate all of us on the upcoming Day of the Great Victory and to express gratitude to you for having taken a serious responsibility on your shoulders in what at that time was a huge challenge and showed to the entire the world courage, heroism, ability, patience and in the end a great victory," stressed the Head of the Government and wished a good health, peace and prosperity to the veterans and their families.

He noted that today Ukraine is facing a military aggression – now from the Russian Federation, but the country will bridge over difficulties and will restore its sovereignty and territorial integrity. "Our task today is to respond to the historic challenge, to cope with it and to spare no effort to ensure that Ukraine is taking a worthy place in the European community and on the world map on as a great European country", noted the Prime Minister and  added that the Government is fully committed to bringing benefits for the country as well as to conducting necessary changes.

The Prime Minister marked the significant role of veterans and their contemporaries in the postwar recovery, because the labor of millions of people in the post-war period has set the stage of a modern independent Ukraine.

«Our doors are always open for you. A great honor for us to have a possibility to communicate with you» underlined Volodymyr Groysman while appealing to the former workers of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The participants of the meeting honored memory of the deceased with a moment of silence.
