Ukraine and China must deepen cooperation in agriculture, energy and infrastructure sectors - a meeting of Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of CMEC
Ukraine and China
pledge readiness to intensify cooperation
on projects in agriculture, energy and infrastructure
spheres. The relevant bilateral agreements were reached during a meeting of Prime
Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman with Executive Chairman of the Board
of China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) Mr. Sun Bai in
Kyiv on Wednesday.
During the meeting
Mr. Sun Bai
stressed there exists high interest
of China in Ukrainian agricultural
sector thereby for today there
are plans to create a first
China's modernized agricultural park in Ukraine as
well as to
hold Ukrainian-Chinese agricultural
forum in September in Beijing,
and later in Kiev. The
interlocutors stressed that aforesaid format of collaboration
will enhance cooperation both at the national
and corporative level.”It is vitally
important for our States to
change the state of the
economy. We are committed to
develop deep processing of Ukrainian
agricultural raw materials into finished commodity," stressed during the meeting the
Prime Minister.
Apart from that,
the Chinese side has expressed
interest in projects pertaining to solar energy
development, housing and infrastructure.
Volodymyr Groysman commended the plans of
CMEC regarding investing in
Ukraine and proposed to create
a joint working group to elaborate
a detailed step-by-step approach
for each project. He drew
attention to the fact that
the preparation of projects is
of great importance, because Kyiv and Beijing
have already experienced unrealized initiatives through low-quality preparatory work.
"I'm interested
to ensure our joint projects
to be successful.
I am committed to spare no
effort to create the conditions
for the effectiveness
of our cooperation.
China is our principal economic
partner, and we express strong
intention to continue developing our partnership,” urged the
Prime Minister.
Volodymyr Groysman also expressed the hope
to boost commodity turnover between the countries
and to enhance
cooperation in the future, adding
that the future visits between the Government of Ukraine and
the Government of the People's
Republic of China will contribute
to aforesaid cooperation.
