Ukraine in the framework of development of its transit potential pledges readiness to join the building of new transport corridors as well as to join to existing routes established in particular in the direction South - West from Central Asia through Georgia and Azerbaijan to Europe. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a meeting with CEOs of railway companies of Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan.

Volodymyr Groysman emphasized that collaboration between GUAM member states as well as with partners of Ukraine in Central Asia is a priority which is mutually shared by the Government of Ukraine as well as by the Governments of partner countries. “At the level of Heads of Government we have a mutual understanding”, noted the Prime Minister. In this context he reminded there had been established the Logistics Committee under the Cabinet of the Ministers of Ukraine to focus on transport issues as well as to strengthen cooperation.

In the course of the meeting CEOs of railway companies of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan offered to the Government of Ukraine to join the development of Trans-Caspian international transport route and possibly to establish a joint venture which will provide an opportunity to implement a "single window system" for cargo handling on this route. The heads of railway companies emphasized that this could be a sizable competitive advantage taking into account flows of commodities which amount to billions of dollars

While commenting on a possibility of establishment of such a joint venture, the Prime Minster issued a statement: "We stand for different forms of collaboration. If we are able to incorporate such a company thereby it is an efficient approach. Our consolidated efforts will benefit citizens of our countries. The proposal should be introduced".

The Head of Government gave instructions to the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Kistion to present a road map of joint activities and approve concrete decisions." We shall elaborate a road map promptly. From our side you will feel complete support for this initiative”, urged the Prime Minister.
