  • Ukraine needs bold decisions from NATO, says NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller at a meeting with Prime Minister

    Today Ukraine needs bold decisions from NATO. Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Rose Gottemoeller, said during a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held in the framework of the 10th Kyiv Security Forum.

    "Now Ukraine needs bold decisions. We hope that with our group, team, and all the experts here we can help to develop crucial decisions", she said in the beginning of the meeting.

    The parties discussed specific projects of cooperation between Ukraine and NATO, in particular the packages of NATO Trust Funds to support Ukraine, and also in the framework of the NATO - Ukraine platform designed to study the experience of countering hybrid warfare in Ukraine.

    The Head of Ukrainian Government stressed on the importance of collaboration aimed to increas the defense potential of Ukraine as an important element of deterring aggression.

    "The threats that were hypothetical have become real and now require new approaches, consultations, decision-making mechanisms in the system of collective security. There is no other option but to be strong and find solutions facing such challenges", said Volodymyr Groysman.

    He thanked NATO for its continued support for Ukraine, especially as a response amid deterioration of security situation.

    "We are grateful to the Alliance for cooperation, for support of Ukraine. We want to reach a new level of cooperation, to enhance it and accelerate the reform of the Ukrainian defence sector", he summed up.
