Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine discussed the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Ukraine with a Delegation of the Organization
Deputy
Foreign Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Kyslytysya met with a delegation of the Council of Europe
headed by Children's Rights Coordinator Ms. Regina Jensdottir.
The conversation was focused on implementation of certain elements of the
Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Ukraine for 2015-2017.
In particular, the sides discussed
the issue of combating violence against vulnerable groups of society,
especially women and children, the CoE-related
projects for Ukraine and preparation for ratification of the Istanbul
Convention by the Verkhovna Rada
of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side underlined the
need for deeper regionalization of project activities of the Council of Europe
in the context of comprehensive decentralization and strengthening of the role
of local communities in Ukraine. Also there was discussed the issue of relevant
information support for the CoE’s project activities
in human rights sphere.
