Prime Minister: The new pension system ought to be a top priority for the Government in 2017
The core task for the country and
the Government in 2017 is to propose a new pension system that will ensure
fairness, the increase in pensions and reduction of the Pension Fund deficit. This
was started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman on air of the Inter television channel on Friday.
“I will offer to the Ukrainian
citizens the new pension system basing on three objective things. The first one
is fairness”, underlined the Head of the Government speaking about the topmost
goals for 2017.
According to him, today the pension
system is unfair: ”Regardless of whether a person is
working or not, as the result he/she gets the same minimum pension. I find it
extremely perverse in a way, stressed the Prime Minister.
Moreover, the new pension system is
aimed to provide grounds for increasing a real pension for Ukrainian citizens
and to reduce the deficit of the Pension Fund by 2024 completely.
In 2017 it is a main challenge for
the country. Ukrainian society aspires further changes
in the pension system, summed up Volodymyr Groysman.
